Yes, if the only available phone outlet is used by the DSL modem, you should
unplug it and plug a cable that goes to your Pismo's internal modem.
Usually, when you have DSL, the phone company should have provided you with
"filters" that you use when connecting regular phone-based devices, so you
might want to use one to plug the cable coming from the internal modem.
