I have also had this experience with Epson printers and have seen
it reported widely. Epson turns out great image quality, but you have to
use it nearly every day. If you leave it for a while, it will clog. Last
time I looked for information, there was no way to fix this. I avoid Epson
because of it.
HP printers avoid this problem by making the jet nozzel
replacable. I believe it gets replaced with every new ink cartridge, but I
could be mistaken about that. I tend to like HP, but many people report
their quality is slipping.
I have been seeing good recommendations for Brother printers
lately. In the past the cost of supplies has been higher than other
brands, but they may have brought that down.
