I'm a bit confused by your post. Are you saying that Netscape is the cause
of your crashes but you blaming it on 9.1 being bad?
OS9.1 runs great on my G3/266MT, G3 Wallstreet, G4 (at work), and my son's
two 8500s (one running a Sonnet G3). It also ran great on a PB1400/400MHz
Sonnet G3 that I had even limited to 64MB RAM. All are very stable.
Also what do you mean by landscape style windows vs. portrait? They are
whatever you want them to be by clicking and dragging the bottom right
corner to the size/orientation of window you want.
I also think MS learned there lesson with Word 6 since Word 98/2001 are one
of the best applications available on the Mac. BTW, I was a hard core MS
hater until IE4/OE4 won me over. But as they say, keep you friends close and
your enemies closer. Meaning, I may like some MS applications now but I
don't necessarily trust them or want to be best buddies with them.
