        I removed both the Yamaha CD burner and the Iomega SCSI Zip 
from my Beige G3.  I stripped it down to the basics to see if the 
problems would go away.  But I had the SCSI ID #'s set at 3 and 5 so 
I know there was no conflict there.

        However, the ethernet port still won't work, even when it is 
plugged into an ethernet hub.   I think the port is dead.

        Did Apple use cheap parts in the Beige G3?  I've never had an 
ethernet port die in any other Mac!
