this is the error message i receive (see subject line) when i start up my g3/350 running on 8.6. it seems to be referring to the epson usb scanner i have plugged into the no. 3 port on my 21" studio display's 4 port hub. i also have just obtained a usb 3.5 drive that seems to suffer the same illness. i remember hearing this problem mentioned somewhere in the past. the problem is i can't remember if there was a cure or some secret combination that needs to be enacted. does anyone know the secret? or do i just need to by a self-powered hub? i don't mind spending a few bucks if its necessary, but i can think of more exciting purchases i could make with the money.
