so I just inherited a PM g3/266mhz- the one in the old 7500/7600/etc desktop box. Erased the hard disk, added an extra scsi 4g disk I had sitting around, an old pci ATI video card, a pci USB card, loaded a fresh copy of OS9.1..
and my sound does not work. the sound control panel in the input section says that the settings for sound cannot be changed because the device is in use by another application. The speakers section is dimmed. all alerts get me a flasing menu bar. I have checked all the usual suspects, but nothing seems to be in control of my sound.
