I tried to fix the card...and I got it to work!!! The only thing...which I forgot to mention...is it went back to the way it was right before I totally lost sound...which is good sound in the left speaker...and a lot less sound out of the right speaker...I opened it up AGAIN (after taking it out, putting it back in, etc. around 5 times) fidgetted a bit, and got both to work...then after a few seconds of playing a song the right speaker (working fine...) fell out. Does this make sense? It was playing fine and then faded out. oy... I'll open it up AGAIN and futz around AGAIN I guess.
One speaker (and some of the other) is better than the built in speaker! Thanks a LOT Ron.
