Here's how I create pdfs in Quark 4.04 w/ Acrobat Writer 4.0: 1. Select Acrobat PDF Writer in Chooser. 2. In Quark doc, open Page Setup. 3. Click on the "page setup" capsule (lower left of Setup window), which opens the PDF Writer page setup box. 4. In this new popup box, click on "Fonts..." In the next popup, select "embed all fonts." Let it do its thing, then click OK. 5. You're now back in the PDF Writer page setup box. Check to make sure everything is set properly (scale, orientation, etc.), then click OK. 6. Now you're back in the original Quark Page Setup box. Click on the "printer" capsule (to the right of the "page setup" capsule in the lower left). 7. In the new popup box, select "view PDF" and adjust the page range, if desired. Then click OK. 8. Next box asks you to name your pdf and identify its new location. (Make sure the new file name ends w/ .pdf.) Click "Save." 9. Back in the original Page Setup box, click "Print" (in lower right corner). Quark/Acrobat will create your pdf and automatically launch it in Acrobat Reader.
Tip: If your Quark doc has graphics w/ runarounds, be sure the picture boxes have a white background. (If you don't, they'll have a black background in the pdf!) BTW...I've heard about some problems w/ Quark 4.1, which is why I never upgraded. Good luck! :} Gee Lindblom Design 8120 Penn Ave. South, Suite 180 Minneapolis, MN 55431 952-746-4000, ext. 17 (FAX: 952-746-4001) Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.care2.com - Get your Free e-mail account that helps save Wildlife! -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
