If you can, get firewire... Check www.deal-mac.com and you can usually find
great deals on the not-quite-cutting-edge-speed models that are
still-way-fast-enough-for-what-I-need. :)

USB is fine, but the interface is fairly slow so the burn rates don't go as
high as firewire drives, and it can be easier to move your drive to a pc or
older computer if you have them lying around if it comes up. They really
feel slow to me now.

I've used both Que and lacie drives and been very happy with both, the que
seems to be faster.
