It won't actually say on the cable that it is a cross-over cable... If you
aren't sure, then yes you probably have a normal cat-5 cable. :) With normal
cabling, you need a hub or switch to route the signals... Unless you have a
spiffy g4 powerbook which automatically senses it is plugged into a comp.

If youdon't have access to one, walk into any computer store (compusa,
local, maybe even staples or best buy) and tell them you need a cross-over
ethernet cable and they'll know exactly what you need. Will probably cost
between $7-12.
