FireWire Target Disk mode (the 'official' name for this option) is not 
available on B&W G3s IIRC. I have a feeling I tried it and nothing 
happened (i.e. I got a normal boot). Dunno for sure, there is a lot of 
stuff missing form early iMacs and G3 B&W machines, such as Option boot 
and TDM, which is annoying. AFAIK it is available on FW PowerBooks, iBooks,
  G4s and iMacs.
