I should've mentioned, I need to transfer files from my Mac to the PC.

My friend has a hub. Not sure about the crossover cable.

I don't want to spend any money as this is a one time only thing, so I may
just hook the Mac's hard drive to the PC & use a free / demo PC program that
lets you read Mac disks.


Thank you for the other replies with the tips re. using FTP. May come in
handy.
