My friend always fits IBM Deskstars to his computers (he has 3 now AFAIK). 
They are good, solid and fast. I don't think you'll do much better myself.
  YMMV.
One is in our server and gets well thrashed, it's still going strong after 
over a year of use an abuse.

FWIW I have a 10GB drive in my G3 (which seems to be holding out) and feel 
a little cramped. Trouble is, adding a Deskstar 40GB or 60GB would involve 
doing silly things like buying an ATA/66 card. I can't afford the drive, 
never mind it and the card. :(
I can't even add a slave to it! As it is my stock 6GB Quantum is on loan 
to a friend who put Windows XP on it.
