Well, not really. :)

When you turn on appletalk, the machine assigns itself one, or you can
assign a custom one to it. Go to apple menu>control panels>appletalk and set
it for ethernet... It will try to find a zone, then under "edit" change the
usermode to "advanced" and you'll see the IP for the network (probably like
65502) for the mac, then click "get info" and you'll see "this macintosh"
and you'll see something like 65502.111.

Somewhere in the ftp program there will be a way for you to see exactly what
the IP # is (it will be the same as using the above method). Set her network
to ethernet also, and type in that address in the ftp window and you're
gold.

Try the above, and it should work... I once had to ftp between a mac and
windows98 in the exact same way I mentioned above because the server went
down for the iloveyou virus, which took down outlook, everything so it was
th eonly way and we were in a huge hurry, so I know it works.
