I usually use TechTool to rebuilt the desktop or just holding those two buttons
when I want to do it at startup. Lately I was browsing my HD with ResEdit to
check for unwanted invisible files and made the desktop files visible to trash
those to let them be created at startup, but that way you lose all your GetInfo
text. Hmm I had forgotten that that would happen :)
That will also happen when you use an app that trashes the desktop files.

yes indeed it is a very good app. You can also get DW from the Apple Store. I
saw it at the Dutch Apple Store but i suppose it's on every Apple Store.

Yes indeed, I meant 'disk first aid'. Sorry for all those short words (what's
the word for that in English BTW?) That is the short word we use at all mail
lists, well I know I do :), for Disk First Aid.
