Having said all that I have used a shovel to hammer nails when I didn't have
a hammer to hand. I've also cooked an irish breakfast on a shovel over a
fire when there was nothing else to hand. Best way to clean shovel BTW is
dry sand an a flat piece of wood.

My world. I have used AMD and Intel PCs all day for years. For everything
including graphic design etc. I have no problems converting any file, or
media from one platform to the other. Or in using either platform. Mind you
I've been using both for about 15 years by now. Recently I came into
posession of a few power macs. Was considering trading them in for a G3 or
G4. hence why I joined this list. (In case you are wondering why I'm here)
My sisters using my old quadra 800 12/230 (CD) as a work processing machine.
My mother in law is using a Pentium 60 8/500 as a games machine and wp etc.
At work we have a 98% PC's of all ages and the rest is Mac's and Sun
machines.

For what its worth, my 2cents are as follows. Apple makes lovely machines, I
love the design of them and the concept. However their sofware and OS has
fallen behind the PC. Windoze is a very capable OS. Get over it. Tell me
what it can't do. And to use my tools metaphor a bad work man blames his
tools. Unfortunately theres nothing I can do on a mac that I can't do on a
PC and do for cheaper. But there is stuff I can do on the PC that I can't do
on a Mac. Even if it just that my favorite app or game is only only on the
PC, or even that I can only afford to do what I want using PC hardware.
Unfortuately thats just the way it is. hence why I you can count the number
of irish apple dealers in the entire country on both (actually maybe even
one hand) hands.

Still I remember hooking up "hellcats" on three monitors on a IIci, and
going wow. Seeing the latest G4 with the 22" flat sceen still has that
affect. Still can't afford one though.
