It was even worse when Best Buy carried macs... There was a pretty good reason for it though... A little known fact is that computer companies often pay a commission to salespeople who sell their computers... Yes, even the kids at best buy. :) Unfortunately, apple's "commissions" that they would send to the salesperson were a decent chunk less than what he would get for selling a hewlett packard or compaq or similar x86 box... So they would often push those boxes... Add into the fact that they probably barely knew the macs, and it's a recipe for disaster...
