I would have to agree with Ted, in regards to the Beige G3. I own a Beige
G3/333 (last Beige G3 MT produced). I'm not sure if the model was/is
available in the UK. In the US, you can pick one up for $700 or $800.

 I'm running:

1) 768m of Ram (the max spec) of PC 133-

2) 2 HD's -Maxtor IDE 7200 40g and original Sony 9g (Virtual PC on the 9g)

3) Yamaha 16x10x40 CDRW

4) Xircom USB/Firewire PCI card.

OS is still 9.2 , and would love to have X, but just haven't found a good
enough excuse yet.

Now for the cons:

1) 66mhz system bus

2) ATI 6mb Video (competent enough for all but the most serious games)

Those 2 negatives aside, this is the most stable machine I have ever used. I
started using computers with a Unix system, and switched to Mac in 1988. I
use a P3 800mhz IBM ThinkPad with Win2K at work on a VPN.

This G3 is faster, and due to config can use "most" PC hardware and memory.
