I would think it would be best to install on another partition or 
Hard Drive, rather than actually committing yourself. I have always 
updated/upgraded on another partition to first check things out. I 
have finally got OS 9.2.1 working pretty good and should be ready to 
dive into OS X.1 pretty soon. I've not been in a hurry as too many 
things don't work in OS X.
