Hello listers: Many of you have vouched for Seagate's reliability and performance.
I've seen a glowing, published report at how quiet the new Barracuda IV is. This model has a fluid motor bearing. Another report from a user/tester says that two samples emit a very irritating, very high frequency sound three seconds after every action, such as opening a folder. The sound dies down like a cat's meow. Anybody here have the same experience? What about the older Barracuda III which also received good marks for being quiet early this year?
