If an OS X install fails, it is quite likely that the PRAM will be left
totally corrupt.

I attempted to install First Public Beta OS X on my G3/300 MT. The install
failed.

My machine was left with EIDE buses missing.

Resetting the PRAM using TechTools did not help.

Resetting the PRAM F-I-V-E times using Ctrl-Alt-P-R correctly reset the PRAM,
and brought my EIDE buses back to life.
