I actually have it on a PC actually, I got mixed up. :( What it does is
takes the USB signal and runs it to the optical link on the stereo, so you
don't have it going from digital (computer) to analog (sound out) to digital
again... Not a big deal if you already h ave CD quality sound, but if you've
ever tried pumping out mp3's to a decent set of speakers, it is noticeably
crappy, but with this 160kbps mp3's sound extremely good, right at
cd-quality and 192kbps is indistinguishable (to my ears anyways) from a CD.

I believe it also does something where it "fakes" adding in some highs and
lows which the mp3's strip out as they're inaudible, but are noticeably
lacking when you have a good subwoofer hooked up.
