I have a G3 266 and it has two connections on the ATA bus. There are two ATA buses on this Mac . I also have a CD-RW on the second bus. I had some trouble getting Toast to burn CD's so I changed the jumper to slave. This did not help so set it back to master. I then bought some CD blanks that are labeled 16X compatible and all works well. HTH Norm
