Hello, The internal HD is ATA, which is also known as IDE. You can replace the internal HD with basically any ATA (a.k.a. IDE) HD. I replaced mine with a Western Digital Caviar 100GB 7200rpm 8.9ms average seek time Ultra ATA/66 HD and it works great. IBM and Maxtor are good brands, from what I've heard, and my Western Digital one is working out fine.
Completely unrelated: I think you can put firewire in your G3 easily with a Firewire PCI card, by the way. Good luck, Dan Arnold -- Sent using Entourage X on a Beige G3/266 DT/768MB RAM/100GB HD running OS X on 4/3/02 6:27 PM, Marilyn Turner at [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: > > This might be too basic a question for some of you guys but I > would like to add/replace another - larger HD to my beige tower > G3.
