I've had no trouble with whatever extensions came with System 7.5.5, OS 8.1,
OS 9.1, and OS 9.2.2.

About turning earlier macs on at the same time, it depends. After reading
the warnings in books and on e-lists, I was concerned, but had no problem.
This would have been a big problem since I had a Performa 6300 at one end of
the house and a at the other end a 6116 and a PowerBook G3/333.
