Fellow listers:

Hopefully this will not be considered too off topic: I have a graphite SE
iMac (600 mhz) with OS 9.2.2 on one partition and X on another. I am
absolutely unable to reformat a Mac-formatted zip disk so that I may use it
on Windows machines. When I try under the Special menu, after erasing the
zip disk, my only choices are Mac extended and Mac standard. . . . no DOS.

I installed the newest version of Iomega tools; my choices do not change by
using this application, whether I choose short or long format to erase. I
have contacted Iomega live help three times; who have suggested a number of
things; including turning off File Exchange to reformat and also reinstalling
the IomegaWare with extensions off. I have opened the IomegaWare from the
control strip, and it makes no difference (another tech suggestion.)

I know I am not the only one who cannot seem to do this now. A mac user with
9.1 also tried, so it is not a 9.2.2 thing.

Has anyone successfully managed to reformat a zip disk to DOS format
recently? If so, can you please share how you achieved your successes? I
know that this used to be easily done. I will really appreciate your help,
as this is the only way I have to transfer large files from work to home,
and do not want to purchase more PC disks when I have o many empty mac ones
here.

Thanks in advance.
