I posted this once, and have since had a little luck but it would seem that after deserting Mac users in the dark days of Apple, HP hasn't made much of an effort to win us back.
I just go a PSC 750 printer/scanner/copier (a very sweet machine). However, I was unable to get it to work with OS 8.6 like it said it would. It kept asking for a file called colmgrlib. Well, I decided it must be 8.6, so I tried it out on my new iBook. Still nothing but the same response. I then tried the update that said it only worked with OS 9. This setup ok, etc. I thought I was home free...but then...duh duh duhhhh... ...it wouldn't print in the background at all. It sends it somewhere, but I can't keep an eye on a print queue and the printer does nothing. It prints very slowly, but sucessfully in the foreground, but that is extremely annoying. I don't know what to do. I would like for it to work with 8.6, at least until I can upgrade, but for right now, I would settle for background printing. Has anyone bought this thing? I'm lost. Thanks, Paul P.S. Thanks to everyone who has given me input so far. -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
