A number of people in my department have been moving over to X and have not found living with Classic easy - it tends to hang (even on a new iMac). They feel X is messing with 9.2.2.
This hasn't happened to me yet, but when my Apple menu aliases stopped working (when booted with 9.2.2) I had a look with Norton Disk Doctor (Norton Utilities 6.03) and found: Check Catalog Tree A major error was found in the header node of the Catalog B-tree. The leaf record count is incorrect. (10,2,20) The problem was fixed. Interestingly (infuriatingly!) this only happens when I select Eudora 5.1 from within X - ie Classic has not been launched first. If I launch Classic then launch Eudora - no problem (so far) - when booted with 9.2.2. (maybe I should set a default launch of Classic). (The only other Classic program I have tried is Explorer 5.0, but this was OK both ways.) What is going on - and how can I stop it until an X native Eudora comes out?
