IBM invented the architecture, and "PowerPC" is a registered trademark of
IBM, but IBM decided to focus its PPC life extension efforts on server chips,
which effectively means that the latest IBM PPCs don't have Altivec, although
they do have some performance-enhancing features over the Altivec containing
chips.

The 300 and 350 MHz IBM G3s, aluminum and copper for 300 and copper for 350,
have been rock solid.
