RE; you may still be okay,as for the freezes,on several ocassions,tech tool
told me my drive was shot beyond repair, however, inializeing,rewriteing it
to zeros and then reloading everything fresh,corrected the troubles,as for
WD hardrive failures mine have consistantly just died(dead)no action .no
warning just quit and stayed dead.trouble shooting a bad WD drive for me
could not have been easier,but murphys laws=  your milage may vary, as for
NDD It has always caused me more trouble than worth,in fact it too often has
caused the trouble it cannot fix to begin with,I much prefer disc warrior,
if that doesnt do it,, then its reload it all time anyway. just my
opinion,,best wishes
