Same thing happened on my B&W G3, I did everything you did. Nothing I did
fixed it. So I went back to OS 9, which really sucked.

When I moved into my new place, I had to switch ISP's. I booted back into OS
X, just to see what would happen. Guess what everything worked fine. My only
conclusion was the ISP didn't work with OS X. Go Figure.
