hey nick,
have you reformatted the hd yet? just thinking that if you could maybe boot into os9 some how and use something like norton disk doc you may be able to get the disk up again. it may not bring osx back to life but it may allow you save some of the files. i've used this a fair bit by partitioning my hd down - the system, work and app's are on partitioning partitions of the same drive. it means that if i get the magic flashing question mark after a nasty crash i can start up from the os9 cd and the applications and working disk's are still there. i can then back those files up, repair the system disk and off we go. normally the disk repairs (using norton or disk repair) but it doesn't save the actual system itself. i get round this buy buring a 'mirror' copy of my os9 installation (after i've used it for a month or so) and once the disk is repaired i erase the partition and then copy the os9 from the cd and restart. it's a pain but it only seems to happen once in a while. compared to windows, it's a breeze.... of course, osx changes all that... good luck, jake on 5/7/02 11:37 am, Keith Gregory at [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: > I have not 'crashed my computer a lot' , in fact not at all and if the > computer had crashed why would it be me that crashed it?
