After 6 months of running OS X with no problems, something very odd happened today. I have OS 9 installed on a separate disk, and have been using "Option-start" when I want to boot from OS9. Now, with option-start OS X is the only option that shows up on the screeen. I went into the system preferences and changed the startup disk to OS 9, and restart took a *lo-o-o-ng* time and then started in OS X!!
What I changed was adding a new HP PSC 950 -- any ideas how this could have corrupted my system? Do I reinstall 9 to solve the problem? You all are the greatest -- I've been lurking for a month or two, and some of your advice has prevented me from getting into trouble.
