I have had road runner cable in the tampa florida area several years now,note on sunday nights at 3;00 am they turn it off for unknown period for maintenance, As to how to connect several macs with everything,well in my opinion,start with, as basic as possable to start with till you are used to it, its somewhat different than telephone modem to me, of course its only my opinion, good luck and congrats its nice once you get used to it
