VueScan, already mentioned, should manage the Microtek, but you need a
PCI SCSI card such as Adaptec 2906, supported under X.
For the printer, I would get a cheap printserver, and assign it an IP
address. You can then set it up under X with the PrintCenter, or under
8-9 ( as well as XClassic) with the Desktop Printer Utility. You can do
this with all the machines you have. I have my antique NEC PS printer
hooked up this way, always have had, and print to it under 10.1.5 and
Classic (9.2.1), depending on what SW is running. Jaguar is supposed to
have USB Printer Sharing, sorely missed after moving from OS9xx.
The Epson should also have a USB port? Just plug it in, most newer
Epson's are supported under X.
The Zip:. just plug the ZIP into that SCSI card: it is automatically
supported.
With any USB-serial adapter such as KeySpan, you can connect your GV
modem, but whatever for? I connect my Acer ISDN telephone box per
KeySpan, but only for configuration.
