that's rather stinky of them, but then again, even though microsoft allegedly isn't a voting stock holder, apple has become more and more microsoft like ever since, although that could have started before the "bail out". there's a huge trend in the corporate would to try and make everything proprietary and "trade secret", often for no reason but to try and maintain a strangle hold on people once they buy one product. it seems most big companies still don't understand the advantages of competition.
then again, american steel mills have the nerve to whine about cheap foreign steel, when the fault is there own (even considering labor issues), they've simply taken too much profit off the top for too long and failed to build newer more efficient plants when the time was right, like some foreign companies have (frequently because there's were previously bombed!). it's pretty sad when you are making something as cheap and heavy as steel so inefficiently that it's cheaper when someone else makes it even with shipping across oceans.
