I can only answer a couple of your questions, but I a sure someone else wil know more:
- Yes you can swap Logic boards, what you need is a Rev B or higher which supports slave drives. - The fact that you have a Rage II+ means that you have a Rev A board, there is a TIL that will help you here: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=24924 - Internal modems being faster? This is similar to the Hi-Fi cables debate, some people swear by it, others refute it. I would reccomend an internal because: *Its out of sight *No need for extra power-packs *Less trailing leads *If indeed they are faster, then you have secured that option!
