Hi Listers:

I have a question that has me sort of perplexed. We bought a new dual 1
gig G4 yesterday and I was setting it up. I get my internet connection
from a PC with a PCI DSL card in it. So, with my G4 867, I have it
connect using DHCP and it's always been able to get an IP from the PC
and connect to the net just fine.
Well, when setting up the dual 1 gig G4 yesterday, it was going through
the setup and it chose Bootp as the connection protocol. I thought that
this was wrong and changed it over to 'using DHCP' like on the 867. Try
as I might, it would not get an IP.
I played around a bit and was getting a headache from the whole thing
when I thought of just putting it back to Bootp and it worked.
Can anybody explain this to me in simple terms?

Asher
