I'm trying to get a Beige G3 to run on 9.2 and failing. If I try to
boot from the 9.2 install CD I see the network extension load
and then I get a white box that looks like the built in debugger
but without a prompt. Boot does not continue. I was able to boot
from and install 9.0, but as soon as I updated it to 9.2.1 it failed
to boot from the hard drive with the same white box. If I try to
boot with extensions off I get an address error in the same spot.

This Beige G3 has 96 megs of ram, a Zip 100, and a 4 gig hard
drive. I don't know what speed it is or if it is a revision A or B. I
also noticed that it produces no sound from the speaker or
headphone jack even after a pram reset.

Oddly, OS X (10.1) installes and runs fine!

I've tried replacing the ram, unplugging the Zip, Pram reset, and
searching the archive for this list.

Any ideas on what else I can try?

Thanks,
