hello everyone, I am joining this list on the recommendation of a fellow H-Mac member. He said you folks might know the answer to my problem - follows -
AAAHHHH, a new academic year, and a new problem (for me, anyway). I have inherited an all-mac network-based school operation this year (yaaaayyyy, FINALLY no more peecee's) and my new problem is this. Most of the classroom computers are the G3 all-in-one "molars". Today, a teacher started up to a black screen. I cannot find any contrast/brightness controls on the case. Are there any hidden anywhere? Otherwise, can I hook another monitor to the machine so I can address the video problem? Do I swap video cards? The harddrive is clicking and running, I can hear what I believe is the "computer shiut down improperly" tone upon start up, but i can't see anything. I've zapped the PRAM and checked the video card, where can I go from here? Any guidance, experience, etc. most welcome.
