Originally I bought a Sony 24x10x40, which worked okay, but would not boot from a cd to save its life. Called Sony and got the cold shoulder the minute I said Mac..
Apparently people at xlr8yourmac.com got this model to work, but mine was a newer revision so no go. Took it back and got a Sony 16x10x40 which you can still find at Staples, and it works perfectly. I believe the model is the CRX1611. Its a little slower by todays standards, but then again so is the dinosaur G3, and it definitely works with the Mac. :) Check out xlr8yourmac.com if you want a complete database with user reports on what works and what doesnt. I check this before I buy ANYTHING third party for my Mac. > Hello: > > I want to replace my internal CD-R/DVD-ROM with a CD-RW > > Need some advice from someone who is now using an internal CD-RW on a > B&W using 10.2 and Toast 5.4 > > Thanks to all that reply > > albert > -- Chris http://www.towelhead.net http://www.mp3.com/stemcellvirus http://www.mp3.com/towelhead -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
