Sounds like either Quicktime has taken control of the SMIL or it was installed in another Web Browser. In the first case, open Quicktime Player Preferences and check under Mine settings. Look under Video, if the SMIL box is checked it means Quicktime is using that Protocol. Uncheck it and Open the Preferences for Real Player, and make Real Player the default player for SMIL. In the second case, if you Open Quicktime and it's not checked, then reinstall Real Player, and when it asks to pick a Web Browser to install your plug in's choose AOL.
