Hello:

Just this morning while cleaning my ViewSonic monitor with a
screen cleaner (Screen Garde) and paper towels, I noticed that the
coating appears to be coming off the screen. Although I'm reasonable
sure that I'm not scratching the screen (this has not occurred with
either of my much older Apple or Sony monitors), it's possible that I
may have picked up something on the actual paper towel and dragged it
around.
Is there some way to reasonably remove the rest of the
coating, assuming that recoating or repair would be more costly than
replacing the 17" monitor? As the "scratches" can be seen but not
felt, it doesn't appear that the glass has been affected.
        Thanks for any help/suggestions.

        Dale Mullen (Yarmouth, N.S.)
