It take it by that it's a Mini-Tower then :).

Not at all. In OS X Partitions are good. Firstly you probably realise
your 10.2 partition has to be inside the first 8GB on a beige machine.
Also the smaller your OS X boot partition is the faster OS X restarts
in the very rare even that it should crash.
On my hard disk in my B&W G3/400 (40GB) I have a 7.4GB partition for OS
X and apps not out of necessity just cause I don't need any more. I
have a separate partition of 2.1GB for OS 9 and any Classic apps. The
rest of the drive is split into 2 14GB chunks, one for games and MP3s
and the other for storing internet downloads and junk.

If you still use 8.6 on a daily basis you might eventually need 5GB for
all your Classic apps I suppose but you may find at least some can be
replaced. I fortunately never bought any Mac Apps until they came out
for OS X so I have a full suite (apart from Photoshop 5.5 'cause PS7
took so damn long :) ). That's the advantage of starting late :).

Spend a least 2 hours a day in OS X. It's not that bad once you get
used to it's quirks, just a bit different.

Weird. Are you using an Apple monitor?

I wish you well with 10.2, hope someone here can sort out
