Sometimes a particular OS just doesn't work on a particular type of Computer that's the best explanation the Mac provider who sold me my G3 new. My G3 is a 350 B&W . Installing OS 9 caused the silliest errors. I knew from the reaction my Performa 6200 had to an OS 7.3 years before I needed to install the fixed updates. 7.5.5 fixed the Performa and Os 8 is the highest I have on it. To-day it's a print server.
>From this Experience I updated the G3 from Os 9 to 9.1 t (has well documented bugs) from there to Os 9.2 . My G3 is currently working well with that.
