When the computer first started exhibiting the problem, the keyboard and 
mouse were plugged into the back of the computer. After about 5 reboots 
we decided to try plugging them into the monitor. After extensive 
troubleshooting we ended up plugging them back into the computer. So the 
problem was there regardless of where the kb/mouse were plugged in.
