I wrote about a week ago regarding a blue and white G3 at work that would
stop recognizing input from the keyboard or mouse a few seconds after
startup. We tried everyting, including the suggestions made by list
members. Finally, deciding it must be a problem with the hard drivem today
we brought the computer down to the computer services office to replace
the HD. We didn't feel like hauling the huge 21" Apple monitor with us, so
we just used a 15" Dell monitor we had in the office. And lo and behold -
with the new monitor, the computer works fine! No problems! I've never
seen anything like this before, but logic dictates that the problem must
be something to do with the monitor. (It's one of the huge B&W ones with
USB ports.) We even ran TechTool Dekuxe (from an AppleCare CD) and it
passed all tests. Interesting!
