I got a freebie 133 ata card with my Maxtor 80gb 7200rpm drive ($100 on sale at Staples a few months ago. ) I emailed the manufacturer of the card and they said no way for the Mac. (I don't think it was Acard.) Too bad since I had to pay $80 for a similar Mac card recently.
There was no Mac driver on the cd in my case. What you'd probably need is a card flasher to convert it to Mac compatibility. You might check with Maxtor or the maker of the card. I emailed the manufacturer of the big chip on the board, who actually built the card for Maxtor. (Can't temember the name.) I got a quick reply by email. I sent the card to my brother who runs a PC.
