The ABS uses a Lucent Wavelength card, internally.  It also has a place for
an antenna to plug in.  If you take the ABS apart (which is very simple) you
can attach an additional antenna and mod the case to feed the antenna wire
through.  

I have done this myself on the rev. A of the first ABS.  I have also
replaced the two capacitors that cause the first model of ABS to fail.  I
paid $14.00 to have this done by a computer repair depot.
