List, Mitch has expounded on my initial description quite nicely. The outlet is still on the back of the after-beige towers (mine is a rev. 2 B&W, btw), but it supplies power whenever the computer is plugged in (whether on or off).
That is not switched, more like a pass-thru (probably makes smaller power supplies possible or something) and the root of the original question posted by Ben. He was looking for a method to get that power-on functionality back (for the more lazy folks on the list, including me).
